And here was another.

I mentioned that the NFL Network spot was my favorite, as well as this heritage spot by Frito-Lay. Just as good I thought. Certainly the most tasteful of the night, although USA Today has it ranked only in the middle of the pack. I want to say it’s a travesty that the Blockbuster spot ranked a lot higher, but then again, it’s just business as usual in the mind of the consumer. Talking animals are safe, and people... love... safe. Whatever.

There’s a nice background story here on the Frito spot from Highjive. Fitting that the more effective spot took just eight days while I bet the fucking post on the guinea pig alone took a month.

(Just to clarify, this was a repost HJ had of a Lewis Lazare Sun-Times Column.)

The Blockbuster spot was pretty funny. Done to death, yeah, but still funny for what it was.

People love talking animals. Especially when the animals have regional accents.

Remember Barnum- nobody ever went broke underestimating....
