There’s something strangely compelling about these
WONGDOODY spots for the Washington State Dept. of Health anti-smoking campaign and their website
quitline.com. Along with the other spots
Cocktail and
Dark Alley are some outdoor
here and
here. (There’s something that feels so wrong though about seeing a headless turkey laying on its side that way, bringing back memories of
this pose.) But these spots are compelling in a good way. They’re more humerous than
Above The Influence and stand in stark contrast to
Truth, which as of late, just seems to feel more miserable and depressing with each new spot. Maybe because these spots focus on the act of quitting rather than showing the effects of smoking. The background on this campaign is that it embodies the idea that not only is it difficult to quit smoking ‘cold turkey,’ but trying is not pretty, either.
