Illegals a problem? Try Granny Guard.

(Someone said they needed a rest after the recent elections in November before seeing another political spot. Sorry. There just doesn’t seem to be an off-season anymore when it comes to election or PAC advertising–and we’re still a year and a half out from the presidential Gang Bang of 2008.) So it’s in that spirit that I give you: Granny Guard–“when regular patrols just won’t do.” (Check out their spot.) I haven’t heard of Grassfire.org, the group bitching about the slow progress made in building the U.S./Mexico border fence. However, judging by the production value of the spot, the blog and Drudge ad, they must be getting money from somewhere. Grassroots? Yeeeeah, okay. Sure.

Because I’m all about equal time, DHS secretary Michael Chertoff says they’ve spent all this time buying up the land to build on and that by the end of 2008 all 700 miles will be complete. Considering they have about two miles or so done, their estimate to have even 150 miles complete by this September is ambitous to say the least. Still, how much money is this PAC going to waste anyway. And I’m sure whoever has the deep pockets to front this effort never hired illegals to do work around their mansion either.
