It reminded me of the hp celebrity stuff. I do they think they were guided by the requirement of having to explain and demonstrate all the capabilities. Personally, there are times when I value information over entertainment -- not that they need be mutually exclusive.

take a look at the original iPod ads. they're nothing like they are today, and they're almost exact replicas of the iPhone ads they're doing now.
seems the demo to color splash route worked well before. maybe they'll do it again.
cf - Capabilities are fine, it’s just whole spot didn't have the usual ‘wow’ factor of new Apple stuff. Maybe because we’ve been waiting so long.
