Much like the arbitrary use of quotation marks! Nothing I love better than a good ol' 'Come on in and try our "wonderful" apple pie!'
I got a letter the other day that said I was "Officially" hired.
Of all the words in the English language that cannot withstand quotation, would 'Officially' be one of them?
I think, and this is just me blue skying here but, that would depend on the job. White House hires you? Yes, then ““OFFICIALLY”” should be bold, italic and have two sets of quotes.
If it’s from Office Depot though? Not so much.
Do two sets of quotes cancel out the quotes altogether?
