Speaking of big shots, got 50 large a month to advertise to the A-list? Try aSmallWorld.net, a four-year old invitation-only social networking site for “direct access to some of the world’s most influential tastemakers” according to Harvey Weinstein. (Pssst, Harvey. Key tastemakers are the moviegoers who buy the tickets, not other moguls.) I guess the paparazzi, spammers and freaks were too much to take on MySpace and soon Facebook, (if they haven’t already taken it over by now.) One thing though: if it’s such an exclusive club, why not keep it quiet and forget the PR release? Especially with advertisers like Land Rover and Cartier signed on–unless they’re hurting for more.
Wonder if Leonardo hits up the regulars there to check out his global warming movie.
