Madonna the rebel joins everyone else and leaves her label.

I’m sure Guy Ritchie’s thrilled. Now he’s gotta start work on Snatch 2 just to pay for the benefits they won’t be having. However, the New York Times should’ve mentioned that if anyone deserves credit for starting this recent trend, it’s Prince, not Radiohead.

Exactly. Prince has been 'net only for years, and working all the tricks that go with it: you know, super-high ticket prices, bundling cds with show tickets, etc. Plus, he once beat Charlie Murphy in a game of basketball.

CHARLIE Murphy.

Now that Eddie stopped being funny, my money’s on Chuck to grab the comedy baton and run with it.

The image of madonna with a Les Paul disturbs me.

Madonna with Les Paul himself?

Even more disturbing.

Yeah, I went there.

How 'bout Madonna with Gibson.... DEBBIE Gibson. Yes, I also went there.

And the thing is that Prince has pretty much ALWAYS done whatever the hell he wants. Seriously, how many albums does he have shelved.

And it may be a trend, but if the Riiakjkhakh (whatever the hell acronym they use) get shafted in the end, I'm all for it. CD prices going over $20?? are you shitting me? And Collective Soul being "exclusive" to Target and selling tangible versions of their album for probably $30 with tax..... ($28.99 to be exact).

The point is that someone as mainstream as Radiohead doing it is a quasi surprise since no one knew they were that upset with the industry. By "no one knew" I meant your average layman because if anyone has voiced discontent with the music industry, that would be Trent Reznor. I'm just happy some of my favorite bands are free from contractual obligations. NIN, Radiohead, Pearl Jam... bring it.
