At least the donate button is nice and big.

From a marketing POV, I suppose I can’t blame the candidates for passing their collective hats for a donation on their sites, but damn Mitt, could ya ask a little LOUDER? They’re not all that bad, I just think what people really would appreciate is a way for their voices to be heard. Submit an idea or simply vent, then maybe we might donate.

However, for the likely frontrunners (Edwards, Hillary, Obama, McCain, Giuliani and Romney), you have to dig a little on their sites just to send an email. Lose the donate button the size of Rhode Island and have an area across the top to submit questions and be heard. Display the most recent ones and maybe, gasp, answer one or two! (It’s obvious that all the sites are trying to connect with the people and be all Web 2.0, but they’re controlling the message too much. Why not also incorporate a widget for submitting audio comments. Or even a YouTube page that actually allowed public video and text comments.)

Try and show a little concern for the voters, not the coffers.
