Walmartopia–branded content run amok.

Any PR is good PR, no? Walmartopia, an off-Broadway musical about a future with Wal-Mart running the world, is not exactly the kind the retailer is looking for. (In case you can’t get tix to Rent, it runs through December 30th.) Coupled with several docs on the Retailasaurus and you have some kind of new trend towards this branded content negative PR thing going on. (BCNPR for short.) Super Size Me kicked things off where basically, anyone with an issue, a dream and a camera can become an internet hero, just as long as you tap into some of that consumer vitriangst.
