Selling out and T-Mobile.

This started out as me looking for another T-Mobile spot on YouTube, the one above that ran during the Grammy Awards last night. (Was originally going to rant on why their spots are so good–digging the recent talking relationship guy—even though I’ll never use their service.) Anyway, the Billy Magnum character plays a typical smarmy, snaky band manager in all the spots here. The band, Of Montreal, is legit. Further Google detective work led to a column by lead singer Kevin Barnes regarding what it means to sell out as a band. Which, after reading, made me feel less angry about that annoying Outback Steakhouse spot and the catchy “Let’s go Outback tonight!”
