just an fyi - because maybe you haven't thought of this - but every time you post a list of links, while I think "there may be some cool stuff in here" after my experience with your links and seeing a real hit and miss mixture, I always scroll past these days. I'm sure I'm probably missing out on some interesting items, but I'm also passing over some things I'm not interested in, some things I've already seen, etc.

while your one-liners may seem clever and intriguing, I just don't like clicking through a bunch of unknown links, with no cue at all as to what's on the other side. if you were to post something descriptive and illuminating alongside your links, then I'd be able to determine which ones I've already seen, which ones I'm not interested in, etc etc. it's just basic usability. I also prefer getting at least a little commentary from people as to why they are sharing something. it's just interesting to me.

That’s the beauty of it: One person’s hit is another one’s miss.

I think it's great. Some I like, some I skip after the first paragraph. But I do it for those absolute gems that crop up in each batch. Ta!

I've always been a fan of your link collections. It's like web roulette.

If you don't have five minutes to find new things on the internet, you shouldn't be reading blogs.

@matty-except nobody dies here in this type of roulette—I hope. The links are usually about something in the biz, even though lately some of them have skirted Wt? territory. The other thing I tried to do is have the description always be something you discover after checking out the link.

just an fyi - because maybe you haven't thought of this - but every time I open a comments box, while I think “there may be some cool stuff in here” after my experience with the comments and seeing a real hit and miss mixture, I always hesitate clicking these days. I’m sure I’m probably missing out on some interesting comments, but I’m also passing over some things I’m not interested in, some things I’ve already seen, read, heard, etc.

while your visitors’ one-liners may seem clever and intriguing, I just don’t like scrolling through a bunch of unknown comments, with no cue at all as to what’s being posted next. if your visitors were to comment something interesting and illuminating, then I wouldn’t worry about reading comments I’ve already seen, which I’m not usually interested in anyway, etc etc. it's just basic courtesy. I also prefer getting at least a little commentary from people as to why they are sharing something. it’s just interesting to me.
