Buying time: Obama will spend $961,000 for 30 minutes in primetime. Doritos? $3 million for :30 seconds during Super Bowl LXIII.

Of course, if Doritos was running for President, it too would benefit from the non-negotiable lowest rate deal that the FCC engineered in--oh--1972. On the other hand Obama's lead in and lead out are the same. This is not new. Bush I bought a 1/2 hour on election eve in 1988 on three networks. A fine film was done actually with a few minutes at the end with George Bush I. The most interesting request from the campaign was a last minute plea to cut out the Bush-Quayle signs as much as possible and show only Bush signs.
