F the recession.

When in doubt, throw out an F-bomb. If the New York Times won’t run it, I will. An ad for Morgans Hotel Group was rejected by them because of the use of the word fuck. Morgans also plans on running light projections on buildings this weekend. Recession? What fucking recession.

Strange. Grabbing text, attitude, and energy - plus all the buzz. Where am I sent? Now that you've got my attention with your "guerilla" advertising, you send me to recessison.com - which does nothing more than promote your guerilla advertising.

Great opportunity wasted. Oh wait - there was a link to Morgan hotels in there. Was I supposed to dig into the links once I found the useless site that didn't support the message?

Darn.

They may not be fancy - but Super8 ads deliver on their hype. (Or lack of it.)

At least when you visit a Super8 (which is the point of their advertising) you'll see a Super8.

With this piece you go to a site that promotes the viral video you just saw... not the hotel chain hoping to convince you that the 'attitude' is actually part of their brand.

No?

I often find myself seeing cool spots, or executions, but then realize that I'm looking at it as an educated (har) marketer - not a consumer. That's the point that I realize that something isn't as cool as I first thought.

Oh - and the link?
