He’s probably just a little more different than you and me.

Maybe he was just frontin’ bein all crazy n’ shit for his yet to be released new rap CD? Maybe he was trying to get his publicist fired? Maybe he just surpassed Crispin Glover and Gary Busey on the weird shit-o-meter when it comes to interviews? Maybe you don’t understand the mind of an artist? Maybe it’s you? Maybe it’s all of the above?

Gold, baby. Gold.

"We're sorry you couldn't be here today, Joaquin."

Carson's smiling down from wherever the hell he is.

And probably Kaufman, too.

Whack or wack?

Letterman is so funny.

J.P. should start a cult.

Too bad it's not the '60's - J.P. could have really ROCKED this attitude thing. But what the heck's to buck now? I'll tell you tho' - I'm DYING to see the hip hop. I mean hear the hip hop.

My take is dude's got to erase his movie image to turn people on to the new music gig.

It's working for me.

And J.P. is being the consummate straight man to Letterman's funny making. Good job, J.P.!

The word is "wack." It's a Hip Hop thing. It means "not fly" or "not fresh" or just plain bad, dumb, wrong, stupid, messed up. That's my understanding, anyway. I don't know the origin of the word.

It's not "whack." Or "whacked." That's a WHord that WHite people WHo don't pay attention to song lyrics have been using and misspelling. Typical. "Out of whack" and "whacked out" are old euphemisms. They mean somewhat similar things, but they are not the same as "wack." My thought is that they might be related to hitting devices to make them work, as on old TV shows, but that's speculation on my part. "Give it a whack."

@M.M. - I’m still waiting for Kaufman to reappear. Now THAT’S a punchline.

@CUL - Tortured soul, artist doesn’t do it for you?

@CM - I’d like to be near him when he performs it.

@HHGP - Word.
