Yeah, I’m mad.

This makes me want to do something alright, like punch a wall. While I understand the nature of what it is they’re going for regarding dating violence, I absolutely hate the execution of this DoSomething.org PSA. Re-enacting crimes using actual police reports isn’t new. Many reality shows about police have already done it, and I like the trick here for a PSA. Problem is, the student-like voiceover is too annoying and read way too quickly, coupled with a shooting style that feels like a bad History Channel recreation. Not to mention tipping their hand with a warning of what was to follow and diminishing the brutality. Solid idea that could’ve been so much more effective if handled differently.

Agreed. The execution is terrible. Why not give it a CSI reenactment flavor? It's so slow and plodding. You want to beat both of the actors. And the creative team.

What can I say, I love HighJive's technique.

And, really, can we quit it with the bracelets? How lame is that? Very, that's how.

Do they have bracelets for bad ads?

@hj - yeah, even a close-up pan of a body in the morgue as the dialog is read.

@CK - there isn’t to my knowledge but there should be. Not sure they have any colors left since all the causes used them up.

Maybe we go clear.

Good intentions. Poor execution, especially when the VO says something about her trying to gauge his eyes and the "actress" is trying to pull a Three Stooges, two-finger eye poke maneuver. They should not have rushed this one.
