The future is here now, for $30 million a ride.

Jetpacks is right—we just ain’t there yet. The promise of cheap space flight for all is obviously not going to happen in our lifetime. Not when you need the operating budget of a small city just to take one trip, let alone two. (That’s why there’s Jetblue for the rest of us, even though they max out at 40,000 ft.) Maybe space travel is just for dudes like Branson and former Microsoft execs.

There’s also something very technoronic about a steam train hauling a rocket to the launch pad.
