“But we don’t broadcast in 1,000,080P...
do we?”
Great delivery of that line in this recent DIRECTV* spot, probably the best spot of the series to date. The brand is an advertising conundrum though: You may likely never use them but their ads sure are memorable. Pick any one and the sharp writing along with Best in Show’s John Michael Higgins’ performance likely carries it. So do the ads fail? Or do they work because you remember them?
*head and shoulder side shrug*
*AD BLOGGING DISCLAIMER: I had DTV for one year but because of where we lived, it kept cutting in and out when it rained or snowed. I also hate that their Sunday Ticket has a monopoly on being the only carrier that offers NFL game packages.

Oh yeah! This is a DTV spot. Kind of slipped my mind. ;)
i think the best advertising out there can only make you consider a product or service. These spots are awesome and have made me consider DTV. But i'm too comfy with Fios.
One thing that these spots prove is that no matter how many dvrs or tivos are in use, tv advertising is not dead.
With you recent post on "branding" in mind, no commercial no matter how funny (and it is funny) can overcome bad customer service, and predatory negative response billing tactics.
