Shine a light on NBC.
There’s me kidding again. Kinda. There’s a series of spots out for American Express and NBC Universal that promote unsung businesses in local communities. It’s called SHINE A LIGHT and while I love the idea but could’ve done without S. Epatha Merkerson’s awkward/blatant Law & Order plug. The spot from Top Chef’s Tom Colicchio was more understated. While many of the businesses on the list may seem a little upscale, it’s still nice to see places you never hear about get the nod. Nominate a business for consideration by Sept. 13th and you could possibly win $3,000, while the business could win $100,000. (Complete rules here.)
