Puma saves the planet, one pair of sneakers at a time.

PUMA’s new sneaker bag that took 21 months to develop is cool and all. It even saves the brand money on production costs as well as helps improve their carbon footprint. But I come back to the main problem with green initiatives like this:

Until you address the main problem of what discarded things go into—plastic trash bags—we’ll still have a major problem with the tons of them clogging the environment each year. Not everyone who buys things in boxes, canvas bags or something biodegradable recyles the packaging—that shit often ends up in Hefty bags.

The result? The thing that holds the thing you just bought to help the planet gets thrown in something that will... not help the planet.

Maybe instead of inventing the next Quadra Ziploc bag (the Mach Fusion 15-blade equivalent), Glad should focus on inventing a bag strong enough to hold trash for 30 days, then break down naturally. I think they might *clean up* if they did, no?

I see all kinds of cardboard inside that bag???
That's the best they can do?

Smells like greenwashing to me. But if people believe it then it's true.
