Suds on a rope.

Now you can smell like the morning after the night before. Like chocolate and peanut butter equals Reese’s, Narragansett Beer and Stella Marie Soap Company have combined distinct, um, ingredients for the world’s first beer soap? (Judges are still confirming if in fact we can stand by that claim.) Supposedly though, hops promotes relaxtion when applied topically. THAT’S SKIN, YA HEATHEN. Of course, hops when applied internally does a pretty good job of relaxation too. Hope the soap is more fragrant than actual hops, trust me. If you haven’t smelled them, that’s some pungent stuff kids. (And if soap’s not your thing, then just buy a case of brew and help them build a new brewery.)

All the way back in the ’70s, I was gifted with a bar of “beer soap,” so this is by no means the “world’s first.” When I had to use it because I was out of “real” soap, it turned out to be pretty thin suds, to coin a phrase.

Also, I worked in a brewery and I will affirm that the smell of hops is sickening. Especially in the morning when you are hung over, as is often the case when you are 19 years old and working at a brewery.
