Thinking and driving.

Recent UK campaign to get people to buckle their seatbelts from AMV BBDO is about as graphic as CSI, maybe less so. I was expecting narsty, but didn’t really get it. Spot still does a good job of explaining the effects of the second collision that occurs inside a car during an accident. Just do what we do here, no? Make it against the law to not wear your seatbelt.

If you wear a seatbelt, how would that stop your organs continuing their journey ahead? I dont get it.

when you're wearing a seatbelt, you're traveling with/against the seat, therefore your stop is more 'controlled'. when he continued after the car stopped, his body/organs moved forward causing his internal organs to stop later...allowing his ribs to break, lung to be punctured, etc.

basically when you're thrown forward more than 6" you're putting a lot more stress on your body and organs than the 1" you might travel with a seatbelt on.

i'm not saying it couldn't still happen, but the likely hood goes down much more significantly when you're wearing your seatbelt.

this would be an awesome crossover ad to couple with the police and MADD's annual campaign to "gently"
remind people not to drink and drive. Possibilities for extra revenue generation.

It is against the law in the UK to not wear your seat belt.

I can only assume that enough people are injured / killed in accidents because they weren't wearing their seatbelts to justify the ads.
