No, YOU’RE dumb, you big dummy!

Thanks McDonald’s—I’m bloggin’ it! Still pissed after the Burger King food costume people tore them a new one in a stunt for a commercial, McDonald’s responded by doing the only thing it could: Take on Starbucks. Pretty much a fail. They don’t need to do this because people already know they’re the cheap alternative. Them, Caribou, Peet’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, etc., are all one big reason why SB has been suffering—they all caught up and Starbucks never adapted. All those chains are doing the SB ‘thing’ in some way, shape or form, and cheaper. So McDonald’s should just stfu, enjoy the massive sales blip they got recently, and stick to what they do best in their ads: Trying to be all ghetto n’ shit. (On second thought, this could be an amazing social media opportunity! Release a PR statement on blogs and apologize to everyone who’s offended. It’s the new black!)

Credit SB though for not responding. A neg if they don’t get back to taking care of their own biz. Who knows, with reduced sales and closing stores, maybe they have to try something drastic at some point and fake the punt on their own 20: Come out with a line of reduced price drinks that undercuts everyone. Keep your high-end line but get people back in and attack the over-priced mindset that everyone has about the brand.

Which reminds me that I haven’t had any caffeine today.

Not sure how Starbucks could respond, as they lack a line of hamburgers. Though it's possible many of their former managers are now flipping 'em.

A few days ago, Starbucks put a lot of their store inventory on sale. Like 20% off, even on their coffee beans. I don't think I've ever seen that happen before Christmas.
