Here’s to more anonymous comment lawsuits in 2009

Anons beware, you can’t hide anymore. According to yet someone else trying to extend their 15 minutes ex-Vogue model Liskula Cohen, apparently didn’t get the email about anonymous comments on the internet. Yeah, they have those now. So over on Skanks in NYC, someone posted “I would have to say the first-place award for "Skankiest in NYC" would have to go to Liskula Gentile Cohen. "She's a psychotic, lying, whoring . . . skank . . . Desperation seeps from her soul, if she even has one.” Seriously, compared to the comments out there, the term ‘Skank’ is a term of endearment. But, this is internet and the age of someone done blogged me wrong and now here we go, justice will be served as she wants Google to reveal the anonymous name so she can sue them. Hmmm. Forgetting the subject matter of the blog for a second, the bigger issue here is what should be allowed when it comes to anonymous comments? There’s no doubt the obvious ones like death threats need to be addressed, but how far is too far? What if an anonymous comment like that is correct?
