Here’s the new head coach of your Red Bulls. Ain’t blog karma a bitch. Now he’s coaching closer to where I live. I can’t believe Alexi thought this was a good move. Just shows MLS can’t build a league without showy PR moves and selling out to corporate America. Hey, at least it’s another great opportunity for Arena to be humiliated internationally Aug. 12 when FC Barcelona comes to town. All I can think of is that he didn’t get spanked enough in Germany.

Arena actually has a pretty good track record up until this year. He won titles with UVA and with DC United.
He's probably the best American soccer coach ever (which, admittedly, isn't saying much)
Yep. He had a great college record, but I just don't think he translated that succcess to the US program.
MLS in my mind is just not there yet quality wise. We have too many teams and one star per that we steal to play on the national team.
I don’t mind that, but many of his choices for lineups had me baffled.

Tug from AC here. As another soccer guy (29 years and counting) I agree with the rehash of American coaches.
I for one (and my brothers for two more) will be utterly flummoxed if US soccer hires an American for our next manager.
Sigi Schmid? Bob Bradley? Mooch Myernick? No thanks, no thanks and no thanks.
Yo Tug, thanks for stopping by. As we speak, Arena wins in his debut.
As for the national team, this next hire has to be someone that's going to turn the US system upside down. The ’play it back all the time and switch the field’ BS is killing me.
