0 rings. Countless commercials.

Priceless.

Still (and I'm no Indy fan) Manning is that rare athlete who has a good sense of comic timing. Locally, we get Dan Frickin' Marino shilling for car dealerships and get-rich-quick "coastal property" seminars put on by shady developers. And it's always in that over-the-top earnest Marino style.

manning has a good sense of comic timing? please produce the evidence to support that contention.

the man needs to spend more time watching commercial film versus game film.

the only thing we can count on is a comic performance in the playoffs.

The one where he is dressed as a fan in his garage talking about Sprint is a fairly well-delivered monologue. And , for an athlete, he's one of the better ones.

I stand by Manning as the best quarterback pitchman! But come clutch time, give me Phillip Rivers any day

(Although Brady's performance on SNL was pretty damned funny)

I don't mind any jock doing spots to promote themselves. Just win though. If I was a Colts fan, I'd take Manning in one stupid Wheaties commercial a year after his career was over if it meant a SB ring.

Can't recall Montana ever doing an ad during his career. Just seems like the entry price of how good we perceive an athlete to be is how good their shoe deal is up-front.

well, shit, if you qualify it as "best quarterback pitchman" then it's a whole different story. although donovan mcnabb's chunky work is a thespian's delight.

i think marino peaked with his work for isotoner gloves.

jim mcmahon probably outdid manning.
