Let it out with Kleenex the shrink.

There was a great opportunity with this one. Peel and reveal print ad drives you to a Kleenex site to talk about they ways we let things out. I love the premise for the brand. But the video clip there is so odd, with actors in the middle of a street doing bizarre things being watched by Truth-like people. Surreal much? Plus, the blog is literally one post old. Why are blogs still launched the day the campaign is? (On another note, the actor on the upper left panel looks like the guy who tries to eat the gigantic hamburger from the Life Takes Visa campaign. Which likely means he’ll be in a Pepsi spot tomorrow.)

Bill,

wonderful to read you like the print ad. The video on it is taken from footage that was used for the TV commercials; we have a few more of those to come.

The blog is a work in progress and more posts are on the way. It's new, but we have a great blogger on the team who is going to grow this.

In that context, I can see the where the footage works. I envisioned the stories though to be more straightforward after seeing the print and the clean colors of the site. As for the blog, it's a personal thing, but I like to see a blog with more than one post to it, even at launch. Hard to do I realize, but why not have various posters, (celebrity or otherwise) tell their stories to populate the blog and help kick things off?

i don't know. there's something not right about "let it out" as a tagline for kleenex. makes me think of those pharma ads with the animated mucus characters. or the scene in "little children" where kate winslet discovers her husband's hobby.
