Until real football starts, something for the other futbol freaks out there...According to Drudge, apparently England wants Beckham playing this year for their national team, which means MLS and the L.A. Galaxy are screwed–he can’t play both according to FIFA. (Will this guy ever make it over here beyond a Man U. friendly?) Surprising they’d want him back, considering A) His age, and more importantly, 2) The stitches from the knife in the nation’s collective back still haven’t healed from when he signed with Real Madrid.
MLS still makes out because if even he doesn’t end up coming over, they already got a bump in ticket sales in anticipation. Sucks, but, that’s the way it goes. (Injury could’ve also just as easily taken him out, resulting in the same situation.)
And there’s no truth to the rumor Posh has been put on suicide watch after finding out those Rodeo Drive shopping sprees will now have to wait—indefinitely.

Choosing Becks is a desperate throw of the dice by an England manager dogged by poor performances from disinterested millionaires. Drafting in another tycoon with the accompanying media circus surrounding both him and his lippy wife won't fix things in the long term.
Besides, I don't think I could take the cooing from Mrs Chimp, who has a Beckham calendar in the kitchen.
Jeez.
This doesn't mean he won't be joining the Galaxy -- it just means the Galaxy will have to release him temporarily to let him play for England if and when both teams play on the same day. Which shouldn't be too often.
Tim, from what I understood, he has to be available for all of England's matches including training with the team. Based on the number of upcoming matches on ESPN, he could miss the majority of the MLS season if he gets picked for all of them
