Real Russian. Er, Soviet. One of those. Graphically? A very cool spot that goes right back to the Motherland of authenticity without shame. Monty Python meets proletariat esthetic. Generally with spirits, it’s either trippy shit or lifestyle with gorgeous inverted slo-mo pour shots. (In category, Skyy still can’t past being the Dolce & Gabbana of vodka in either its TV or print, Absolute walks away from the bottle and Reyka has some funk going on. Smirnoff spots have a clean feel. Like Stoli, they also cover the authentic theme, although in a little more contemporary way.)

Saw the ad last night and was planning to blog it myself. I love the commercial - it nails the ethos it wants and is designed beautifully. I don't drink vodka and this wouldn't make me try it - but I would totally hang up a poster in my office.
I guess we were all watching Colbert last night when this aired.
Given the revcent comments of Putin, it's very fitting that Stoli go back to the Soviet era for inspiration.
See that? I’m current and retro like that. Da!
