Another example of my faith being restored in the beauty of freely available online information to anyone, merely for the asking. Take this first answer in response to the query of how to stop a dog from scratching and licking too much. Clear. semi-intelligent. Some might even say helpful:
“I am going through training with my dog trainer right now to help my Boston Terrier stop licking...This term refers to a movement that will intrude upon the dog’s personal space without using your hands. Dogs usually associate the hands with play so try using your forearm or leg or whole body to gently nudge the dog off of you...Don’t just take away the behavior you don’t like...and start respecting you and waiting for you to make a move before intruding on your space...Good luck!”
Oh, but what if I want other opinions, you know, to balance things out and calibrate that first answer. Ok, let’s get some! How about the three posted immediately after:
“squirt him with a water pistol when he does it”
“tie mouth shut or cut off tongue”
“Rub a steak all over yourself.”
Ah. The internets. Bringing you near-solid advice for pretty much some time now.
