Nope. The Gap says you’re wrong.

A reporter in San Jose took questions from a great Consumerist post on The Gap’s problems and asked the Gap to respond. (Follow the complete history in all the links there.) The comments in the original post covered things a lot of us so-called experts have brought up in other blogs before: overpriced items, poor sales, limited selection, no identity, etc. Guess what? The Gap’s corporate communications responded about as honestly as Tony Snow addessing the White House press corps on the war. basically, we’re all wrong, everything’s fine and there’s nothing more to see here people, move on please.

SJP has moved on. She's now the spokesscarecrow for Steve & Barry's, a chain of very low priced clothing stores that's responsible for the Starbury, the $15 sneaker Stephon Marbury endorses and actually wears on the court. (A product of a Coney Island housing project, Marbury wanted to create a shoe that poor kids could afford yet was still cool. Sales seem to indicate he's succeeded.)

Yeah, she's doing that Starbury thing I blogged a few months ago, but then, she's also now doing those freaky perfume spots on TV, kinda upscale. I think SJP doesn't know who she is, “what, little ole' me?” girl next door or Calvin Klein.
