Seriously, what’s up with McDonald’s?

The “let’s throw anything out there and give the brand 20 different voices” zeitgeist is dangerous in the wrong hands. Click on the infomercial link in the burst to feel my angst.

I think they spiked the creamer.

i think this goes too far. don't people like to add the amount of cream and sugar THEY want, not what mcdonald's decides...

I assume they're kidding about the cream and sugar, but I don't get why they even bothered to make a mini commercial out of it. Who cares! It's not funny, insightful, or interesting; it doesn't show a benefit or a new product; it barely touches on McD's 'exceptional' service.

Up with relevance! Down with creative mutual masterbation!

It just goes to show how Mickey D’s operates as a client. They have too many agencies, including local shops, producing too much work. This is a typical example of the results. In fact, it may be one of the better examples. There are much worse ads out there for the fast feeder.

No, they add it for you. They even ask how many you want.

But I really can't tell the difference between 3 creams in my medium coffee and 6, so it's rather useless.

I'm embarrassed. So overdone. Also, CPB did this for BK in the radio ad that hawks the sausage biscuit, complete with laser sounds when they talked about the "Patented process" of bringing together "sausage (sfx) with biscuit (sfx).

Just plain bad, this is.

Speaking Yoda, I am.

Why, I know not.

Also, Captain Morgan did one for Holiday costumes which was cool. Parodied the genre with a contemporary aesthetic. I’m old school though and would prefer to see a spot on version of the worst ones from that era, oh, like I actually did 10 freakin years ago, my bad. This doesn’t feel real that way.

WTF! Wow. Yeah, I've been wondering about McDonald's marketing direction for the past year or so, but it seems to be getting more and more out of control. First trying to make working at McDonald's cool, and now mini infomercials making fun of the fact that our society has become SO LAZY that they can't even sweeten their own coffee? Scary. I wonder what genius idea they'll come up with next...maybe being able to buy your packet of cigarettes while you drive through to get your morning egg and bacon and biscuit concoction? Gross.

Hmmmm. Cigarettes and biscuits. Not a bad idea actually. Why not–probably wouldn’t kill any more people than the sausage biscuit with cheese already does.
