Another celebrity campaign against HIV—do you care?
When I saw this spot for Cable Positive, I felt like, here we go, another hi-end spot with celebrities telling me about the dangers of HIV. And I started tuning it out. Not because I didn’t care, but because I didn’t feel like I identified with any of them. Kept thinking I’d rather see people affected with it, to somehow make it more real. Turns out they also made some like that, an entire series of people living with HIV such as this one. But anyone else starting to tune celebrities out for causes like this?

At least they're trying to do something about it, or so that's the case we're sold but way too often, artists don't seem genuinely worried about what they're endorsing and I really hope it's just poor acting skills or the ability to look full of shit when a camera turns on. I hear you about the too many celebs in PSA's, but if in the end it makes a difference, then let the fad continue so exposure and wealth can be well served.
