Rock on, rock stars.

One of the two hours I caught any TV on tour, I saw a little from a doc called Metal: A Headbanger's Journey. Sam Nunn from Canada basically traveled around the world interviewing metal bands. One of the little factoids I picked up was the origin of the sign of the horns. While not the first to use a version of the gesture, Ronnie James Dio said he started using it at concerts back in the 1970s. It has several meanings, but for him, it was a gesture his grandmother from the old country would give people on the street if she thought they were giving her the evil eye. It wasn’t to conjure up Satanic rituals—it was basically to ward off bad vibes. So, ROCK ON.
