Does a viral need to be this much work?
This Guitar Hero World Tour vid from DROGA 5 recreates the actual game environment outdoors and is cool and all, but it seems like videos intended to go viral are now becoming elaborate productions. Had to be a shitload of work to map it all out on the ground for the interns who I’m pretty sure got stuck doing it. Again, cool, but it feels like a trend more and more, instead of the simple stuff that makes you go “Why didn’t I think of that?” (In case you keep score, the GHWT vid has 1.7 million views after a month and iBand had 1.1 million after three days.) So does it matter how elaborate something is as long as it’s cool? Or does none of that matter and it just has to suck so bad that it automatically gets insane views.
