Are you big in Japan?

Hey internet ego freaks. See where you rank with the latest internet famous meets Tokyo subway system map. While taken at face value, it looks graphically pleasing and may be hierarchically correct—but like the internet itself, once you dig a little deeper you find it’s not based on any sort of logic whatsoever.

I know the guys who made this and my understanding is that they do use some logic. Here's an insight into the planning of version 4.

You can find an insight into the previous maps at:

Oliver also presented on this is in the past:

Hope he'll be presenting at the May 13 Tokyo 2.0 and we'll be live streaming so you can ask questions then (www.tokyo2point0.net)

Thanks for the background Andrew. I understand the liberties they took to create the appearance of hierarchy with the most important internet sites in an isometric perspective.

(By logic, I meant if you were to say this represented a real subway map, it wouldn’t have the hierarchy because every location is typically on one plane, not multiple levels.)
