Sexist ads or really unfunny movie?
Choose both! Someone sent this link in about Tucker Max’s movie adaptation of his best-selling book. Yes, Tucker who. I didn’t know anything about him or his book, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell until I read the article. Apparently he’s having trouble getting the ads run. (Props at least for the classic THE ADS THEY DON’T WANT YOU TO SEE approach.) While I usually wait to critique something until after I see it (or hear it), watch this trailer and tell me this isn’t Shallow Hal’s special cousin. Sexist ads? Well, it’s that for sure. In the case of Borat though, Cohen at least hid the misogyny behind a European dolt. Here, the ad and trailer just aren’t funny.

Tucker Max was linked to Maddox (Best Page) for the longest time. His specialty is getting laid and then telling everyone about it. A frat boy who refuses to grow up. And proud of it. He was doing low-grade Apatow stuff way before Apatow.

1. It should be "Tucker Max Facts," not "IHTSBIH Facts". Reminds people of the brand, and it's readable.
2. It should be "you dumb bitch," not "you stupid bitch." Scans better.
3. Tucker Max doesn't translate well to film. The articles are funny, regardless of the sexism; the point of Tucker Max is that he's pure id when he does things, and pure ego when he writes about them. The movie just doesn't work.
Nice to see some actually discussion rather than more self-righteous indignation.
Byrne may have just written some of the least politically correct constructive criticism in the history of blogs.
I used to read the Tucker Max blog a few years ago and one thing I find hilarious is that we was very generous with the casting of his movie self.
