2010 Chrysler Town & Country—perfect for clueless moms and bullied kids.

Perfect for clueless moms and bullied kids. Supposedly the voiceover work was redone so as not to reflect the kid being picked on, but the body language is clear. Just curious how someone thought to highlight new features by promoting a serious problem among school kids? And mom having no clue why three kids are chasing him, then gunning it out of the driveway? Thank God Chrysler invented rear cross path detection to bail her out. (And because you seem to need it, the song is an original piece called Uncle’s Cabaret by production company The Rumor Mill.)

(Update 10/13/10: Out of all the commercials Chrysler has on YouTube, they've chosen to only take this one down due to copyright claims. They apparently have no problem still running the spot on TV though. Go figure. You can watch the commercial here on a Facebook group opposed to the ad. Until they go after it there too.)

Possibly the worst commercial I've ever seen.

I agree...this is a horrible commercial.

I also want to know why the rear hatch was already up, as though she were going to drive with it that way prior to the kid jumping in.

It's supposed to be a wink to something like Indiana Jones, but obviously the subtlety is lost on most people.

In a time when bullying is a serious problem, this commercial is not only bad, it is distasteful and inappropriate.

I wondered if they did a voice-over on this commercial, because what was being said obviously did not fit the dialogue. They want to race him home, and then he hides behind a tree? Then when he makes it, he hides instead of rejoicing? Anyone have access to the original, or know what ad company produced this?

Apparently the original has been removed. What’s there is the new dubbed version. Pretty sure the agency is Fallon.

Yes- this ad is AWFUL ! It was definitely dubbed, maybe they have different versions in other countries, do they even sell this crappy van in other countries ?

It seems they made an ad with a kid being bullied, then said - that's not a god idea we'll pretend it isn't, but it still is, wtf ?

this commercial infuriates me!

It makes no sense to me either. What would have made sense is if the kids said "wanna race", and the mom was at the school; then the kid could have jumped in, ridden home, and could have been standing at the finish when his "friends" showed up. Why race home to jump in a van? I think that is what they unsucessfully tried to change it to. I can't believe chrystler put this on television, I hope their vehicles are better than their ad department.

I just want to know what the background piano music is and where I can get a copy of the sheet music. I Love it!

I agree with that this is a terribly inappropriate commercial. As a teacher I deal with bullying issues on a daily basis on one level or another. The content of this commercial does not come across as a fun adventure between kids challenging one another. It clearly depicts bullying. With three kids chasing after one boy you can assume nothing other than this. In addition, the boy boy being bullied at the end does what unfortunately many children do when they feel safe (stick his tongue out and taunt the other boys). You know that this will only cause the issue to be worse in the future. I feel strongly that this ad should be pull and no longer used.

I jusrt saw this commerical again and can not believe what I saw. Bullying is wrong and that is what the body language is saying. How could the mother not ask why the child was running towards the car and pushing the close button so fast? I do not understand why they have not pulled the entire commercial. This commercial tells me not to buy a town and country auto from this manufacturer. Talk about poor taste.

I must have seen this commercial a 100 times and still don't get it. probably not selling many

Bullying! Really!
This commercial should be pulled!

How does this commercial do a disservice to the problem of bullying? The little brat who leaps into the back of the SUV is seen sticking his tongue out to the "bullies." Is it lost on some of you morons that this kid will have to go to school the next day? Think it's a good idea to taunt the kids who are supposedly persecuting you? Seems to me that this little brat deserves every bad thing that happens to him. How could anybody be on his side? Fine, he won the race. He should accept his victory with dignity and grace. Instead, he taunts. He deserves to get his butt kicked severely.

My favorite part is that they say wanna race.. the kid hides behind a tree.. then the other kids run past him. The next shot is of the first kid behind the tree running in FRONT of the other kids. How the hell did he do that?!

Maybe the next ad Chrysler will make is about some guy in a van trying to kidnap kids
