Aside from its Bose direct response greatness, this Ball watch ad touts the accuracy of the railroad as the lynchpin of its success. Given the current state of railroad travel in the U.S., maybe this isn’t such a good idea. Sure, train travel was once the most efficient way to go, but that’s when there weren’t really any other viable options beyond say, the horse? If NJ Transit and Metro North are any indication, mentioning the ‘Official Railroad Standard’ only serves to remind people how accurate the system once was.
