No, you were right.

The movie absolutely sucks. The Ghost Rider character looks kinda cool, but there’s nothing else interesting in the flick. The story is complete nonsense, with some really terrible dialogue. It’s actually hard to follow, as if they were all making it up as they went along. Truly awful. They even made Eva Mendes come off bad, and she’s actually been in more decent roles than Cage lately.

The movie probably took advantage of a slow opening weekend; that is, there was no competition. Tyler Perry’s flicks usually do well with Black audiences, but bet cash money his latest movie had limited theaters.

If there are any decent movies releasing this week, look for Ghost Rider to drop fast.

OMG - Herbie Mann. You sick, sweet bastard - that connection was frigging magic. Brilliant!

Even though I did throw up a little seeing that, I will suffer for my readers.

hj - I wonder how much of that was the existing fans that gave them the big opening. Week two though, you're right, more than 50% drop-off doesn’t bode well. Snakes dropped 55% by week two and 60% of that week three.

And yes, I will continue to kill Snakes every chance I get.

;-p

The movie was filmed in my hometown of Melbourne.

We make a lot of good, "indie" films in Australia.

Sadly the only films Hollywood make when they come and shoot down under are the same shit films they'd have made in LA - but for half the budget.
