Uh, so yeah. Happy Blog Birthday to me: Three years, one month.

Okay, so I messed up. (I thought the three year mark for this blog was around the corner—nope, already happened. I was too busy blogging to have noticed.) Not sure if having a blog that long is pathetic or noteworthy—you decide! 2,657 posts later, my pledge to you is as strong as it ever was: To post things that will make you go 1) Wtf?, 2) Hmmm, or 3) You’re joking, right?

Thanks to all the blogs out there who write waaaaaaaaay better than me and who also have perspired to inspire me in different ways. The list is long, but all of them are in the blogroll on the right, and for good reason. Thanks also to anyone who has read it, and even more thanks if you decided to return.

So this is the part of the show where we look back fondly. Or fondle, then look back? Here are a few posts I liked, because, well, it’s all about me. Enjoy responsibly!

- The Dude abides.
- Need a lawyer?
- Jesus junk mail chain letter prayer rug.
- Owners SHOULD do their own spots.
- Free coffee, live bait.
- Overheard internet.
- Ads that suck—and work.
- The only creative thing Microsoft ever did.
- Vote or die in your sleep.
- Don’t mess with The Shat.
- Gary Busey explains Hunter S. Thompson.
- Tom Waits for no man—or dog.

Happy birthday, Bill, and thanks for inspiring me. Your blog rocks and doubles as a launch pad into the best of the internet.

Also, great old post on Bob's Furniture. I remember seeing his ads in the 1990s in CT and thinking how awful they were ... and not being able to get them out of my mind.

McKinsey should do a study on why Bob's works. Maybe it's similar to the response we have to a baby shrieking -- the noise hurts, but we come on down.

Happy blogday(?), man.

You're always my first stop in the morning after my first stop in the morning, if you know what I'm saying.

Keep up the great work.
-Jay

PS - my wife is going to hate me (again) for singing "flea market! montgomery!" (again). thank you.

You are the uncrowned king, the wind beneath my wings, the blogger who makes me sing, the Jersyite doin' his thing.

OK, enough o' my lies. That's a lot of damn posts, Bill-o. I think you need a job...blogging.

Congrats. Don't quit.

That's fantastic, man. The blogosphere would be a less fun place without MTLB.

Here's to three more years of making the logo bigger. Er, smaller.

Thanks to all. I could’ve done it without you, but then I’d just be another ham radio operator in their mom’s basement.
