The workers will be fine, don't worry.

Whenever there’s disaster and the company responsible for it comes out and tries to mitigate the damage, inevitably they turn to the clean-up process, and how the workers are being careful and how they have all the right gear. Which is also usually in service of my favorite line... “So that it never happens again.” People forget about the workers and possible ill effects from exposure to what it is they’re cleaning up. Black Wave: The legacy of the Exxon Valdez covers the effects today of the Exxon Valdez cleanup on the workers who were exposed, and serves as a lesson for BP. It’s understandable that people just want their clean beaches back and the local fishing economies to recover. But when I see this trailer and then read comments about BP relative to their clean-up crews in the Gulf now, it seems they’re headed down the same road.
