People might just point at me more now.

Great. Got this lovely bit o’ local DM from the Toyota dealership in the area. At first, I was like, ho-hum, another poster slash brochure that took up my whole desk. Waste of print and copy if you ask me. Until I saw the card that is, and how they personalized a Toyota experience—for me. Tears fell people.
Tears.

Damn is that one big-assed mailing.
Knock the personalization if you will, but the stuff works. So much so it's considered a lock for higher response if you can afford it.

True. I don’t mind the personalizing thing except for it being a lot more down and dirty when compared to the glossy 50 pt. poster they sent with it.
There's a totally new product we want to shove down your throat with your name written all over it.
To be honest this type of DM might suck less than the other DM but when you break it down and ignore the varying degrees of suckage, we'd all just rather not receive any of this shit in the mail.
